Social Psychosynthesis Workshop

In spite of all contrasts, all oppositions and all negative appearances, the principle of interdependence, of solidarity, of cooperation, of brotherhood [sic]—that is, of synthesis—is rapidly gaining recognition. An increasing number of men and women are animated by the will to implement it, and are actively working within different groups and in all fields, outwardly unorganized but inwardly closely connected by a common dedication to the same purpose: the psychosynthesis of Humanity.

— Roberto Assagioli, M.D., Psychosynthesis: Individual and Social (1965)

Psychosynthesis founder, Roberto Assagioli, pointed to the need to extend his work beyond the individual to the social dimension of life.

In this workshop, Raúl Quiñones-Rosado will share insights and applications of Psychosynthesis’ basic concepts and principles to consciousness-in-action, his integral approach to personal change and social transformation.

Together we will examine:

  • psychosocial aspects of the self
  • culture, power, and the “inner diversity” of social sub-personalities
  • effective uses of consciousness and will toward integral personal well-being and collective development

This workshop is intended for practitioners and students of Psychosynthesis as well as all other change agents interested in an integrative socio-psycho-spiritual approach to personal liberation, social justice, cultural transformation, and consciousness development.

Dr. Quiñones-Rosado is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Psychosynthesis, and has presented his work at their recent biennial conference. He work has also been featured at The Synthesis Center’s Presenters Conferences, in Amherst, MA, where he studied from 1983-85. He is a contributing author of Counseling in a Complex Society: Contemporary Challenges to Professional Practice (2007).
