Identity, Power & Integral Change

A Workshop in Consciousness-in-Action

with Raúl Quiñones-Rosado and Rose Sackey-Milligan, Co-Directors, c-Integral

How do we address the urgent problems of our day and still discover strength, hope and possibility along the way? How do we develop an enduring spiritual center of resistance, act from a source of inner wisdom, compassion, empathy and solidarity while putting our hands on the wounds of the world?  Where do we find the will and courage to confront powerful forces and challenge injustice in our society? How do we break with limiting beliefs in our own lives, with negative patterns that keep us disconnected from our true selves and distant from others as we work to change the world? How can our actions in the world be guided by and grounded in a deep sense of balance, harmony, unity and Presence?

Identity, Power & Integral Change is a two-and-a-half-day workshop in which participants explore key concepts, processes, values and practices of this integral approach to personal change and social transformation. Through an engaging multimodal learning process, participants will closely examine:

  • an integral model of well-being and development
  • social group identities as core aspects of “self” and “other” within dominant culture
  • racism, sexism and other oppressions as major obstacles to well-being and development
  • consciousness-in-action as integral transformative practice
  • the value of inner wisdom and Presence through introspective tools and techniques
  • organizing as decolonizing process toward collective emPOWERment and integral change

This workshop will be useful for community organizers, social justice and spiritual activists, cultural workers, organizational leaders, students, educators, helping professionals, and other change agents.
